In the same way that cars undergo an MOT inspection from time to time depending on the circumstances of each one, buildings must also undergo an ITE inspection from time to time to guarantee the constructive and structural safety of the building.<\/p>\n

ITE stands for Inspecci\u00f3n T\u00e9cnica de Edificios (Technical Inspection of Buildings) and is a mandatory inspection or control for some buildings. This control is necessary to check that the habitability conditions are correct and have not been affected during this period. <\/p>\n

This inspection ends with a certificate issued by a qualified technician in which he communicates all the information related to the minimum conditions of safety, health, habitability, stability, accessibility, accessibility, decorum and public order.<\/p>\n

The Technical Inspection of Buildings<\/h2>\n

The purpose of the Technical Inspection of Buildings is to determine the state of the building in order to inform the owners of the actions to be carried out (if necessary) to comply with the correct conservation and maintenance.<\/p>\n

As we have said, the ITE is compulsory and it is the communities of owners or the owners themselves who have the obligation to pass the inspection, and they will also be responsible for the costs involved.<\/p>\n

This inspection is important to carry out, because in case of non-compliance, the municipality can impose sanctions and, if necessary, carry out the works and then charge the owners. For this reason, at Vell\u00f3 Monfort we always recommend being attentive and passing the ITE when it is due without passing the period. <\/p>\n

What is the technical inspection of buildings?<\/h2>\n

The ITE is an inspection carried out by a technician, either an architect or an engineer, and it is a visual inspection, in which at least the elements of the building that are indicated in the standardised \u2018model\u2019 report provided by each community must be inspected.<\/p>\n

In order to be able to carry out the inspection of the state of the building and its common elements correctly, the technician must have access to the common areas of the building and to the private entities of the building, both in dwellings and in premises or offices.<\/p>\n
