The preparation of an architectural project can be complex due to the need to consider all aspects related to the structure of the building. Structural calculations are a fundamental part of the structural design of buildings, which is essential for the proper execution of the works. In this sense, structural analysis involves a calculation process to define the effects of loads, internal and external forces on a structure. <\/p>\n

<\/h2>\n

What is structural analysis and what is it used for?<\/h2>\n

In our architectural studio in Gand\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, we provide the service of calculation of concrete, metal and wooden structures. Structural design is the process of designing the most efficient structure that can support its own weight, as well as all loads exerted by use and climatic events, such as wind, rain, snow or earthquakes.<\/p>\n

Types of structural calculations to be carried out<\/h2>\n

There are different types of structural calculations, such as torque, stresses, bending moments, wind load and pressure, shear and seismic movement. A structural calculation project provides a detailed report on foundations, materials, structural works, beams, measurements, load-bearing supports, among other aspects. <\/p>\n

General aspects to be taken into account in structural design and who must prepare it<\/h2>\n

It is important to note that the structural design must be prepared by a civil engineer or an architect, who must be responsible for both the structural report and the structural drawings. In addition, it is necessary to submit the structural calculation project for new works, minor works and for alterations, repairs or reconstructions involving an intervention on the structure. <\/p>\n

Works requiring a structural design and what aspects should be included in it<\/h2>\n

The structural design must include a calculation report<\/a><\/strong> with vertical loads and overloads, horizontal forces, permissible stresses and party wall conditions. Structural drawings with foundation and floor plans, general sections, construction details, technical specifications and details of expansion joints should also be included.<\/p>\n
