The Old Town of Altea

The charming old town of Altea is the heart of the coastal town and undoubtedly one of the most important places to visit in the region. A stroll through the beautiful narrow streets to the charming church square, the ‘Plaza de la Iglesia’ Church Square ‘is almost a must on every trip. Unique here is the landscape with the numerous white village houses which are characteristic for Altea. On a stroll through the narrow cobbled streets, you will discover something beautiful around every corner. You can do some shopping in one of the many craft shops ,there are many good restaurants and viewpoints from which you can enjoy a breathtaking coastal view.

Our Lady of Consolation

One of the most beautiful attractions of Altea is the church ‘Nuestra Señora del Consuelo’. ‘also known as ‘Iglesia de Arriba’. Here, the magnificent domes are made of blue bricks, which shape the cityscape from afar. Delicious coffees and snacks are available in the small bars on the Plaza de la Iglesia, the town’s picturesque church square. The image, the colours and the town of Altea have a lot of charm.
