The new Dénia station is not as emblematic and historical a place as the old station, where an important Art Centre of the city is located. But it is still an important building in the town, as it is an entry point for many tourists and travellers.
This station is part of the Alicante Metropolitan TRAM, on line 9 to be precise. And the best of all is its location, right in the centre of the town centre of Dénia, a very attractive area that is always full of visitors. A nearby attraction of the station is the maritime station.
Characteristics of the Dénia train station
This is the end of the previously mentioned section, line 9. And inside you will find 4 tracks within 3 platforms. This section has always been the route from Dénia to Benidorm and Alicante.
To access the station you will have to do it from the Saladar promenade, a promenade which is a must when visiting Dénia. Its connection from the port of Denia to the Archduke Charles square will make anyone enjoy it, as it is full of buildings with old façades, full of tables and chairs to have a drink in cafés and bars, full of palm trees and life.
Travelling to Dénia by train
Travellers arriving to Dénia by train can only do so on line 9, so the furthest you can get to Dénia by train is from Alicante. But from first thing in the morning when the trips start and until 23.00 hours when the last one leaves from Alicante.
On the other hand, the last train departing from Denia leaves at 21:00, but its destination ends in Benidorm. In order to buy tickets for the journey you will have to do it from the station itself. It is possible that the city building itself is not the most important one, but it is certainly one of the means by which visitors arrive every day to this town to enjoy Dénia and its architectural and historical buildings.
